A golden retriever, 12 years old, and the moment that changed everything.

The morning it hit me

Cooper’s muzzle is more white now than gold. He sleeps more than he used to. He still tries to chase squirrels — but he gives up faster.

One morning, I was brushing him by the window. Soft golden fur on my hands. And it just hit me — one day, I won’t have this. One day, the brush will come back empty.

I sat there with that thought for a long time.

And then I knew I had to do something. Not later. Now.

Why a keepsake — not a tattoo, not a photo

I thought about a tattoo. Too permanent. Too one-time.

I thought about a framed photo. Too far away. Photos sit on shelves — they don’t come with you to the grocery store, to work, to the park where you used to walk together.

I wanted something I could touch. Something real. A tiny piece of him — not a picture of him, not a symbol of him — him.

So I made the PawLocket. A small, handcrafted keepsake, designed to carry on your keys or bag, that safely holds a real strand of your dog’s fur. Sealed inside. With you everywhere.

Every PawLocket is made by hand, in small batches, by people who treat each one like it’s their own dog inside. Because to someone, it is.

We take 7–10 days to ship because we don’t mass-produce. Each piece is checked, polished, and packaged with care.
